# About Arcanist and Zeus

Arcanist builds Zeus, an AI code reviewer for teams that want evidence before they merge. Zeus works from inside an isolated sandbox with the repository checked out and its development tools available. It can inspect the pull request, run tests, execute focused probes, and report what happened in GitHub.

Many automated reviewers stop after reading a diff. Zeus uses the repository itself when execution can provide stronger evidence. It is a good fit for pull requests where tests, build commands, or small reproduction scripts can confirm behavior, including subtle state, retry, integration, and data-flow bugs.

Zeus is a review tool, not an automatic merge authority. Your team controls repository access, evaluates each finding, and makes the final merge decision. Each review runs separately, and its sandbox is deleted when the review ends.
